Southampton are targeting Werder Bremen winger Justin Njinmah as they push for promotion back to the Premier League. The Saints finished last season in the Championship play-off final but are determined to challenge for automatic promotion this time around, currently sitting 4th with 80 points from 46 games (22W-14D-10L), 15 points behind leaders Coventry.
Who is Justin Njinmah?
The 25-year-old winger has impressed in the Bundesliga, scoring five goals last season and contributing three goals and four assists the season before. Valued at £4.2million by Transfermarkt, Njinmah is known for his explosive pace and ability to beat defenders. Former teammate Marvin Ducksch described him as an 'absolute weapon' due to his speed and effectiveness.
Why Southampton need reinforcements
Southampton have already strengthened their squad this summer with the permanent signing of Cyle Larin after his successful loan spell, as well as adding George Long on a free transfer and Bayern Munich goalkeeper Daniel Peretz for over £6million. With their next fixture against Norwich (at home, 2027-02-17), manager Russell Martin will be looking to add more firepower to secure a top-two finish.

According to Bild, Southampton and Hull City are both interested in Njinmah, but it remains unclear whether the winger would be willing to drop down to the Championship.
