Southampton bolster their squad with the signings of midfielder Laura Hughes and goalkeeper Grace Moloney.
Saints Strengthen Squad with Double Signing Southampton have announced the double-signing of midfielder Laura Hughes and goalkeeper Grace Moloney. The signings come as the Saints continue to strengthen their squad ahead of the new season. The 25-year-old Hughes joins The Saints off the back of a spell playing her football with Australian Ninja A-League club Melbourne City. She has also turned out for Canberra United, Þróttur and Manly United. On the international stage, Hughes turned out for Australia before switching her allegiance to Wales. She has been capped by The Red Dragons on three occasions. The 33-year-old Moloney arrives on the South Coast with a wealth of experience in the professional game. Moloney spent 14 years in the senior team at former Barclays Women's Super League club Reading. She represented The Royals for the vast majority of that time in the second tier and top tier. Moloney then went on to play for London City Lionesses and Sunderland in Barclays WSL2. On the international stage, Moloney has been capped by the Republic of Ireland on nine occasions. Southampton have now signed five players in the summer transfer window with more arrivals expected.
