Southampton FC has launched a new affiliate partnership with Chafyn Godolphin School in Salisbury, expanding the club's community outreach. The programme, which begins this academic year, will see Saints staff deliver weekly sessions combining specialist football coaching with broader educational and personal development.
Chris Eades, head of Chafyn Godolphin School, welcomed the collaboration. "We are delighted to be partnering with Southampton Football Club in a collaboration that reflects our commitment to providing outstanding opportunities for all our pupils," he said.
The Southampton Way in education
Tom Grevatt, Head of Football Programmes at Southampton FC, confirmed the school's inclusion in the club's growing portfolio of affiliate partners. "We’re really pleased to welcome Chafyn Godolphin School to the Southampton FC Affiliate Partnership programme," Grevatt stated. The initiative will see club staff contribute to lessons and co-curricular activities, embedding elements of the club's philosophy known as the Southampton Way.
Pupils from nursery through to sixth form will have access to the club's academy frameworks and coaching resources. The partnership aims to develop skills like teamwork, leadership, and resilience, supporting the school's goal of preparing pupils for the future through real-world experience and professional links. It is designed to inspire participation and excellence in sport for both girls and boys, creating wider educational opportunities and future pathways.
The announcement comes as the first team enjoys a positive run of form. Their recent results, which include a win at Norwich, show a pattern of wins from their last outings. The team's current form is showed by their goal minutes, with the side scoring many of their league goals this season in the second half of matches. The Saints now turn their focus to their next fixture, a home match against Queens Park Rangers at St Mary's Stadium. Fans can also explore the club's current squad and standings for more context on the season. The partnership with Chafyn Godolphin, a newly co-educational school formed from the merger of Chafyn Grove and Godolphin, is a multi-year commitment starting immediately.
